Other Good Habits For School Success

- Use your planner everyday
- If you do not understand the assignment, ask the teacher for help while you are still at school
- Make sure you have all necessary books and materials before leaving school each day
- Have a homework routine (Set place and time)
- Before you begin, get all the tools you will need (pencils, erasers, markers, etc.)
- Work in a place that is well lit and free from distractions
- Turn the tv off
- Work steadily. Take a small break if you have been working a long time.
- Check assignments off in your planner as you complete them.
- Put completed work back in folder and backpack immediately.
- If you are forgetting or losing homework often, ask your teacher, parent or counselor to create a Homework checklist for you to use.
- Break long assignments into smaller parts and focus on doing one part at a time
- Review notes for 5-10 minutes each evening to help you recall information learned

- Be organized.
- Use your time well.
- Don't put thing off.
- Work at a medium speed (Not too fast and not too slow)
- Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast each day
- Get plenty of rest each night
- Ask for help when you need it
- Follow directions carefully
- Use positive self-talk (" I can do this." "I will try my best")
